Laura Palmieri is currently serving as president of Gamma Epsilon Tau for the 2008—2009 academic year. Fifteen members met on Wednesday, October 22 with Laura presiding over a decision for honor cords colors. The colors selected this year are teal and blue. Two members indicated that they will graduate during the December 21 Commencement. The meeting continued with Laura discussing plans for spring semester activities.

Members were encouraged to enter competitions such as the PICA Collegiate Competition and the Book Cover Design competition sponsored by the Kendall/Hunt Publishing Company. The winning submission will be used on the cover of the book Starting the Dialogue: Perspectives on Technology & Society, to be published in 2009. Drs. Marie Hoepfl and Brian Reichle of the Department of Technology at Appalachian State University are authors of the book.
