Craft serves as keynote speaker at international conference

John Craft served as keynote speaker at the 2007 International Graphic Communications Arts and Sciences Conference.

John Craft was keynote lecturer at the 2007 International Graphic Communications Arts and Sciences Conference Dec. 3-7 on the campus of National Taiwan University of Arts (NTUA), Ban Ciao City, Taiwan. Members from industry participated and provided financial support for the conference. Participants also included educators and students from several graphic communications departments/programs in Taiwan.

Li Yi Ma, a 1992 graduate of the Graphic Arts and Imaging Technology program at Appalachian, translated Craft’s paper and Powerpoint presentation into Mandarin Chinese. Craft’s paper and presentation was titled “Contract Proofing-a necessity in the business of print.” Craft discussed an overview of proofing technologies effective for contract proofing. He further explained the use of the ORIS Color Tuner software application, the Gretagmacbeth Spectrophotometer, and Epson Stylus Pro Inkjet printer as a commercial grade system for producing contract proofs.
