This year our students won awards in two prestigious graphic communications competitions, the PICA Student Awards and the Gutenberg Awards. The PICA Student Award is sponsored by the Printing Industry of the Carolinas and showcases excellence in professional printed materials. The Graphic Arts & Imaging Technology program has been winning PICA awards since 2001. This year eight of our students won the Award of Excellence, the highest award given in any given category. The Gutenberg awards recognize exceptional achievement in graphic communications in divisions ranging from middle school to college level. The Gutenberg awards are sponsored by the International Graphic Arts Education Association. The competition is divided into three main categories: print, web design, and photography. This year two of our students won Best of Show for their flexographic printed, spot color, packaging label.
