Laura Palmieri, Graphic Arts and Imaging Technology Major & Communications Minor, received a competitive Print and Graphics Scholarship Foundation Award sponsored by Utica Insurance. She was chosen from a group of 1300 undergraduate students that are furthering their education in the graphics and printing industry.

The amount of the scholarship award is $2000 and includes an honorary membership in the Printing Industries of America/Graphic Arts Technical Foundation (PIA/GATF). She will also receive a copy of GATFWorld, a bimonthly industry publication.

Laura is the daughter of Frank and Mary Palmieri of Greensboro, North Carolina. She was recently elected President of Gamma Epsilon Tau, Nu Chapter. In addition to her studies as a GAIT major, she works on campus at the University Bookstore as well as maintains active memberships in a number of clubs and organizations. Additionally, she has a passion for photography, traveling, and attending concerts as a break from her studies and work. WWhen she completes her degree, she plans to pursue a career as a Graphic Artist working in the prepress area of the commercial printing industry.
